More Nature in the Backyard
I love cats. I think they are such beautiful and majestic creatures. We had whole trout for dinner tonight and thought it would be interesting to leave the carcasses in the backyard for the wildlife. Ironically, a stray just started appearing around the house. I got some great shots of him. Click here to view a larger image. Click here to view the series.

Photo Shop
Yesterday, I took a workshop at church on photography and spirituality. It was very good and gave me a lot of time to play with my camera. I learned quite a bit.
Since I took about 200 photos, does that mean I'm done with Project 365? (just kidding). Here are the best ones...

Horses
I've been trying to get a shot of these horses since January. Either I forget to get my camera out before I get there or I'm moving too fast to get a decent shot out of the window. This is the best I have done so far.
They are just a few hundred yards from my house. I love passing the field and seeing them out. They look the same whether it's 100 degrees, 20 degrees, rainy, snowing, sun shine or whatever. They are so peaceful. I've never seen them running. I'm not sure I've ever seen them moving (except the they were hitched to the plow and were mowing the field next to where they stay). It's like they've got life figured out and are just living it.

Snow in April

Spring Came Early
We've had some very strange weather this year. I think January was a record for mild weather. February was close to the coldest February we've ever had. And, March has been the warmest March in 30 years. The flowers and trees are almost in full bloom and it's not even April! April showers bring May flowers indeed.

The Ice Man Cometh
Wow. Yesterday was a doozy. Power outages, I-75 closed with a downed power line and ice falling from the sky. I hadn't left the house since Monday. I finally ventured out today (Valentine's Day). I had to pick up some flowers.
At least the storm made for some nice pictures.

Snow Day
We finally had a real snow yesterday. And, I mean a real snow. We probably got 5-7" inches here. It's one of those days when we were really grateful that we don't have to leave the house. Traffic was still backed up at 11:30 last night. People spent 3-4 hours making what is normally a 1/2 hour commute. OTOH, we don't get any time off. Snow or not, gotta get the orders out!
