Hair of the Dog

To save money (so I can buy more golf clubs), I bought clippers for Zoe a month ago so I could groom her at home. I'm kind of getting the hang of it. But, I couldn't believe how much her hair had grown in a month!

Shayna Brushing Zoe

Every once in a while Shayna and/or Kayla will take an interest in grooming Zoe. Zoe thinks it's great fun!

Zoe's Now Eating Blue Buffalo

The rep at the pet store talked me into buying another food for Zoe. So, now she's on Blue Buffalo made with more "wholesome" ingredients. Apparently, Iams and Eukanuba have been changing their formulas, getting gradually worse. So, good-bye Eukanuba, hello Blue Buffalo.

Zoe Gets Her First Haircut

After 2 years, we finally took Zoe to a professional groomer. The groomer says Zoe might be a Flat Haired Retriever, and looking at the pictures on the 'net, we think she might be. She's got a beautiful new haircut (and smells great too).

Hog Wings, Beer and God

Today's picture has nothing to do with my journal entry. Zoe's picture pretty much says it all as far as that is concerned.

I met Chuck and Deb at the Glendale Pub to discuss "Meditation Without Myth", a book I had recommended to Chuck and blogged about at The Beautiful Heresy. We were up for a night of Hog Wings (a Glendale Pub specialty that we found out they have discontinued), beer and talking about G0d.

The three of us had a great conversation over some (chicken) wings and a few beers. Spirits and spirituality, a great combination.

Reverse Dalmation

Julie's B&W photos were the inspiration for this one. Take one very black dog and add some very white snow...

Zoe has this strange fascination with Kayla

Zoe just will not leave Kayla alone. Every time Kayla sits down, Zoe is in her face (literally).

Here's just one example:

Zoe with and without a tail

This was really interesting to me, too. I was snapping some pictures of Zoe (without the flash again). Her eyes glow red if there's too much light. Not just a little red-eye, they look like Christmas tree lights.

Since her tail is in constant motion, in the second shot, if you didn't know better, you'd think she's tail-less. It's moving so fast it's not even in the shot.
